In "Think Outside the Cat Box," Parisi, 39, a life-long cat owner and lover, provides an uncanny insiders view of how cats think and view the world around them. The subject of cats is well known to Mark, his cartoons illustrated the book titled "Cats are From Jupiter, Dogs are From Pluto," published by Pocketbooks, a division of Simon and Schuster.

"I grew up with a grumpy cat that I loved," Parisi said, "Since I met my wife, we've had cats with all different personalities, so I'm constantly exposed to ideas."

Mark Parisi, 39, has been a professional cartoonist since 1987. His cartoon work can be seen at www.offthemark.com. Distributed by Atlantic Features Syndicate, his cartoons appear in more than 100 newspapers and online outlets. In addition to cats, his regular subjects include dogs and other animals, computers, aging, Star Trek, airlines, Pokeman and the Beatles. A life-long native of Massachusetts, he grew up reading Mad Magazine, Peanuts and Larson cartoons. In addition to his childhood cat, "Jerome", he also had a dog, named "Peanuts." He has a degree in graphic design from Salem State College. He and his wife, Lynn, live in Melrose, MA with their daughter, Jenny.
