Set against the rural splendour of Northumberland, Paw Tracks in the Moonlight charmingly chronicles the adventures and misadventures of one man and his cat.

When Denis O'Connor rescues a three-week-old kitten from certain death in the depths of winter, little does he know this tiny creature will change his life for the better. Against all odds, the kitten whom Denis names Toby Jug survives and the two form an unusually strong bond.

From a helpless ball of fluff, Toby Jug quickly grows into an adorable charismatic Maine Coon cat. He perches on Denis' shoulder and sits in buckets of water but Toby Jug's inquisitive nature leads to all sorts of escapades. From darting down rabbit holes and stealing the neighbour's tomatoes to leaping into streams and joining the local foxhunt, life with Toby Jug never stands still. And when Denis and Toby Jug embark on a summer camping trip on horseback, a new world opens up for both of them.

A heart-warming and unforgettable story, both touching and funny, Paw Tracks in the Moonlight is a tribute to the incomparable Toby Jug. A cat that teaches Denis what really matters in life.

About the author:Denis O'Connor trained as a psychologist and teacher. Throughout his career he taught in schools and lectured in universities. He is retired and lives with his wife Catherine and his two Maine Coon cats in Owl cottage in remote Northumberland. Richard Morris is a landscape painter.
