Puss-in-gap!

One very lucky cat is rescued from a tight spot!

A cat has been saved from a tight squeeze after becoming wedged between a wall and a wooden fence.

The black cat had become stuck in a gap only 2.5in (6.4cm) wide and was unable to wriggle free.

The trapped puss had been spotted by a member of the public in the Skewen area of Neath, South Wales, on March 16th.

The RSPCA worked with the member of the public to release the cat, with the wooden fence pushed back and the cat brought back to safety.

Animal welfare officer Paula Milton said: "We're so grateful to the member of the public for calling this in and helping out this poor cat from this remarkable ordeal."

"The gap was just 2.5 inches wide, and the cat was completely stuck. The person had tried to entice the cat out with food, but the poor thing was wedged tight."

"Fortunately, we were quickly able to set the moggy free by moving the fence and picking up the cat."

"The cat, thankfully, was safe and uninjured, so was immediately released."
