Gorby

You can't see me now!

Gorby

You are always here
Somewhere on the edge of vision
Walking with evening shadows
Leaving no pawprints in the dew
You slip silently along walls and pathways
Where the ghosts of summer go.

We have seen you lately by the window
Where the lavender once grew
And crossing the lawn at midday
Watched by the other cats
And we have seen you
Slip with us through gates in winter
And padding down the stairs
Here, where you never lived
Vanish noiseless into shadow.
