Back to Rainbow Bridge

October 1998 - July 18th 2004

Cats leave pawprints on our hearts.

Our precious Smokey went to the Rainbow Bridge July 18 2004. She's sadly missed by Oreo, Sandy, and my Wife and I. We think she was unintentionally poisoned when the neighbour over poisoned his yard for weeds. She died the same day.

Smokey was found after I turned onto a 4 lane highway a quarter mile from our home. She was thrown off the trailer but had no signs of trauma. As skittish as she was I knew something was terribly wrong, she would never have ridden the trailer, there was no where for her to be trapped, the cover was on the boat.

Smokey enjoyed her boiled shrimp everyday, where she would rub heads with my wife while it was being peeled for her. She always spoke to us every time we saw her, many times speaking first.

We sure miss her saying murr. Smokey had a great life for the short time she was here in this world, a short 5 years and 8 months. We miss her sleeping with us, wrestling with Oreo every night.

Smokey always licked her food before she ate it, I guess her way of testing it. She loved her string, my wife has put it up in her bowl next to her. Smokey was cremated and she's here with us. We thank God for the short time we had with her and hope to see her again when our time comes.

She really taught me unconditional love. I could go on and on about her and the Love we shared. My Wife Bridget and I miss her so much, her death has left a hole in our hearts.
