Fact or Fiction?

Sometimes facts are stranger than fiction. Investigate the animal realm and try to sort out which of the statements below are true and which are false. Happy sleuthing!

  1. Dalmatians are born without spots.
  2. There is at least one dog breed and one cat breed that is hairless.
  3. Fresh pineapple juice is used to treat hairballs in rabbits.
  4. Some snakes are born alive while others hatch from eggs.
  5. Chocolate gives dogs worms.
  6. Demodex mites (they cause red mange) are found on virtually all dogs.
  7. Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is diagnosed solely with a blood test.
  8. Cats and dogs get hookworms from ingesting the eggs.
  9. Cats can be "allergic" to mosquito bites.
  10. Puppies and kittens have the same number of teeth.
  11. A mild case of canine distemper could be mistaken for kennel cough.
